VirtualPainter.ie was set up in July 2010 by Simon Kinsella, a Web Developer/Web Designer based in Monamolin, Gorey, Co. Wexford.

Having moved into a new home, my wife and I were trying to decide on a colour to paint our house. After a few hours of squabbling, I went inside, got my camera, took a photo, edited the photo in photoshop to show what different colours would look like and the idea was born!

I left my day job as a web developer so as a result, I have a bit of spare time on my hands. I thought a website like this would be handy for anyone who is thinking about what colours to paint a house so I spent a few hours working on the website that you are now using.

If you order with me, I will have your edited photo to you within 24 hours...I have to juggle this with chores, and spending time with the wife and children and dog!

You're looking at version 1 of the website. If it proves to be successful or seems to be worth the effort, I have a few enhancements that I could make for version 2 to target the trades sector.

If version 2 proved to be successful or even worth the effort I would release version 3 where I would internationalise the site for the global market as at the moment, it's only geared towards popular paint brands that are readily available in hardware shops across Ireland.
